2005-01-29 [FireGypsy]: It is the same pic....all the person did was go into photoshop and smudged the colours on the kangaroo which you can plainly see. took a blue colour and airbrushed over the grass to make the sky, and smudged the bottom grass after making a few yellow dots. Lol i play with photoshop all the time so i know how to do these things =)

2005-01-29 [FireGypsy]: okay well i did some hands on research and found out some more. Here is the origional entree.

Now i took the origional pics and overlapped it with the entree and it fits to almost the exact extent. Every spot curve and corner fits perfectly. Now i myself as an artist know that if you use a picture for reference and then paint it seperately that there will be differences no matter how hard you try. That picture was not painted on an eisel just by looking at the strokes. That picutre was done in photoshop.
2005-01-29 [FireGypsy]: also, it is much harder to draw a picture using a mouse than a pencil so that makes it a lot harder to get is almost a perfect match like that. Furthermore, i did an experiment myself with photoshop and took the origional picture from gogle and put it in photoshop and tried to make it look like the entree. Now i am a beginner in photoshop and still dont know what im doing half the time, but i still managed to pop out this picture. Its not perftct and i half-assed it and didnt bother to blend the colours well,but youll see that with the colours on the origional picture and the smear feature on photoshop, that i get the exact colours the entree did. here it is.

For example, when you use the standard skin for a character, it looks like plastic, when there are absolutely gorgeous skins for each character that almost makes them look like a photo (check out my pics "Seduction" and "Isn't she lovely" for an example)

Mermaid's Playground took me about 2 weeks in total, The Burning Times took about 3 days (and 5 more hours to get to the revised version), but on average, one pic (without the postwork) takes me about 10 - 15 hours... mainly cuz I'm so picky at trying to make it look as natural as possible :-P

2005-02-05 [Amalaswinta]: practice practice practice :-) I've spent hours and hours and hours just practicing. creating facial expressions, full body poses, messing around with lights, reflections and much more... and it pays off too: my very first pic (After the Hunger) took me 3 weeks, now that same pic would take me aprox 6 hours ;-)
